How Many Syllables Are In Your Name?

Pete The Cat and His Four Groovy Buttons

Pete The Cat Can Build It

The children have been finding block building challenges each afternoon left by Pete The Cat. Their challenge is to create an exact replica of Pete's structure. This structure illustrates how two small rectangles equals one square and how two square blocks equals one big rectange.  The children are working on math vocabulary, knowledge of shapes, division, and visual spacial skills while doing this activity. They LOVE it!!

Play Dough Color Mixing

The children mixed the yellow and blue play dough to make green play dough!

Mixing Colors

We read Mouse Paint by Ellen Stoll Walsh and placed white paper towels in cups of red, yellow and blue liquid water paint. The paint wicked up the paper towels and mixed in the middle. The children have loved mixing the primary colors red, blue and yellow to make secondary colors green, orange and purple.
