April Newsletter

Hello everyone!

Happy spring! I think it has finally arrived! I am pleased to report that our playground was dry
and snow free. As of Friday, there was no standing water. That is major progress from where
we were a few weeks ago. It is a preschool teacher’s favorite time of year when we can put
snow pants and boots away for the year!

We have started our study of recycling, reducing, and reusing.I started the conversation
by talking about how everything we do either makes the Earth a happier or sadder place
to live and how important it is to do all we can to protect the Earth. The children have been
sorting items into different categories- reduce, reuse, recycle. They then have been sorting
recycling materials into glass, metal, plastic or paper in the dramatic play area. They are
quite good at it.  It will culminate with an Earth Day activity on Friday 4/19. Rhonda from CSWD
will be a guest speaker on Tuesday, 4/16 to discuss the correct way to recycle. We will make
robots out of your donated recycling materials next week. Thank you for everything you sent in.

We are enrolling children for next school year. If you know of anyone whose child is 3 or 4
years old and looking for a preschool experience, please have them contact me at 802-264-5894

We will be having pajama day and watching a short video on recycling on Friday, April 19th.
If anyone is willing to donate small water bottles or a bag of popcorn, I would appreciate it.
Thank you.
